Fontivsolar

Fontivsolar is a 990 kW solar pv project in the region of Avila (Spain). It is the second project that was financed through Generation kWh, an innovative financing scheme developed by Som Energia. At the same time it is one of the first community-owned solar projects in the entire country. Fontivsolar does not get any subsidies or feed-in premiums. The electricity will be sold to the members of Som Energia at cost price. After obtaining all the licenses, the cooperative has started the actual construction in February and by April the plant should be fully operational. The production will be enough to cover the consumption of about 685 local families.
